The R-M Refinish Warranty

This certificate warrants that the paint repairs completed for this customer, under the work order indicated are free from material defects and will continue to be guaranteed for a period specified or as long as the vehicle is owned by the certificate holder. Refer to Conditions of Warranty.

Conditions

The R-M Refinish Warranty, backed by BASF throughout North America, takes effect from the date of the completion of the job reported on this certificate. It is valid for the period checked below or as long as the certificate holder owns the warranted vehicle, whichever is the shorter period. The Warranty is nontransferable.

The Warranty only applies to the refinished areas as described on the certificate for the following defects if they are prominent and extensive, which are not apparent at the time of the vehicle's restitution to its owner;

cracking or checking;
loss of gloss caused by hazing - chalking - fading;
peel of the topcoat or of all the layers included in the process from the substrate;
color change of the refinish material;
blistering caused by moisture.

Not included in the warranty:

rust originating from within the auto body with or without the presence of punctures in the steel body;
hazing of the paint caused by improper detergents or particular circumstances (parking in environments subject to industrial emissions of volatile or corrosive substances);
scratches or abrasions caused intentionally or accidentally;
vehicles which have been painted successive to the issue of this certificate;
color change of any painted surfaces not refinished under the Warranty;
blemishes or blistering caused by rust originating within the autobody;
damage caused by accidents, vandalism or stone chips.

Settlements covered by the R-M Refinish Warranty Certificate do not under any circumstances give the customer the right to delay or suspend payment to the authorized Refinish Warranty Center. In the event of incomplete or nonpayment the Certificate of Warranty is not valid.

In the event of the appearance of any defects covered by this R-M Refinish Warranty Certificate, the certificate holder must take the vehicle to the BASF authorized R-M Refinish Warranty Center that did the work to have an inspection of the defect. This inspection will be carried out by the shop and a BASF Technical Sales Representative to determine if the compliant is justified and, if it is, the defect will be repaired free of charge to the customer upon presentation of this certificate.

In the event the customer has moved away from the area of the shop which originally completed the repair, they may take the vehicle to the authorized R-M Refinish Warranty Center of their choice for inspection and completion of work covered by this Certificate of Warranty.

If it is found at the time of inspection that approved R-M Refinish Warranty procedures were not followed by the shop at the time of original application, the shop whose name appears on this certificate becomes fully liable to repair the vehicle at no cost to the owner.
